Fine by me.

Be good to here more as I don't like these vehicles and often dislike their owners as well!

Hello Geoff, I remember you from when I was a small boy in Ulverston and you ran a craft group from your home. I also recall walking to Coniston slate mines with you and others.
I have just finished reading your site and concluded 'this guy is good, I could support him'. However I then read "I don't like these vehicles and often dislike their owners as well!" and because of that bigotted statement, which I dont believe is an appropriate mindset for a public representative, I will not support you. What other minority groups will be your next target?

Great to have your comment.

I do not see this as a bigoted statement.

You are not taking into account the small word 'often'.

I do not dislike all owners of 4 x 4 , this would be bigoted. However in my experience I find that I don't like most of the 4 x 4 drivers.

This woman fitted in with my previous experiences. She got out of the car, seeing I was taking a photo, made a gesture to suggest "And what are you going to do about it"

Stopping to think about it, people who buy 4x4s give little thought to global warming or they would choose a smaller vehicle.

I realise that politicians usually avoid making provocative statements because, as in you case, they loose votes. I refuse to follow their example. I shall attempt to be totally open about my beliefs and global warming is one of them - see my other political blog.

Voters who reject a person on a chance impression over one small issue are only hurting themselves. I suggest you drop in to see me at the Rose and Crown one Saturday Morning at 11.00 - I'm always there waiting to discuss issues with voters.

One way communication on a blog is a poor substitute for a conversation where you can begin to understand 'where I'm coming from'.

It would be great to meet you again - I'm wondering if you're the boy that we used to call 'mischief'. He kept popping in to see how we were.

The clue is that you don't mention Pathfinders where most of the kids came from.

Do you drive a 4x4 now? !

Yes I drive a 4 x 4. I use it as a tool in the course of my business and for personal use.

Why do you focus on 4 x 4? Most 4 x 4 have modest engine sizes and have emmisions similar than many other family cars.
Larger engined 4 x 4 have emissions no greater than many other large saloons or sports cars. Why not focus your attention on sports cars for example?

I know you are aware 4 x 4 relates to the vehicles transmission system, so why not focus on ALL four wheel drive vehicles e.g the 1.3 litre Fiat Panda Cross?

Is it really 4 x 4 you object to or is it all large polluting engines?

Read Land Rover carbon offset program.

If it is all large engined vehicles, I suggest you refrain from using the term "4 x 4" in that context.

Thank you for your "drop in" offer, which I must refuse because I dont like beards and often dislike their owners as well!
